The rand has been the currency of the republic of South Africa since 1961, one rand is equal to 100 cents.

- CME Launches Electronic American Style FX Options
On Sunday, December 17 (for trade date Monday, December 18), CME started trading side-by-side open outcry and electronic trading for nine of the American style FX options.
