To enable customers and partners to develop proprietary or commercial trading applications for CME Globex®, CME provides and supports the following order routing and market data interfaces:

• CME iLink® is the CME Globex order routing interface built on the industry-standard FIX protocol. It is designed to allow customers to send orders to CME Globex and receive confirmation and fill information.
• CME Market Data Platform, a dual-feed multicast market data dissemination system, is designed to allow customers to integrate CME market data into their trading applications.

CME provides two testing and certification environments and a team of dedicated technical resources to assist customers in their efforts to develop to CME Globex. Technical documentation, including Software Developer Kits (SDK) and Client Impact Assessments, is available for both CME iLink and CME Market Data Platform. The documentation, testing environments and technical support resources help customers efficiently develop and test trading applications.

Once development is complete, the application must then be certified by CME before connecting to the production and environment to begin trading. AutoCert+, the automated CME certification tool, ensures that all trading applications conform to CME Globex specifications and adhere to CME requirements.
